Lomo Alto
About This Spot
Stepping into Lomo Alto is like discovering a quietly cherished corner of Puerto del Carmen, where the rhythm slows just enough to savor more than the sea breeze. Nestled away from the bustling tourist paths, this inviting spot carries the warmth of a local favorite—welcoming without pretense, with a subtle hum of contentment that feels like a shared secret among friends.
The atmosphere balances a relaxed intimacy with a hint of occasion. Large windows frame a gentle view of the ocean, letting in natural light that plays softly across the wooden tables and textured walls. The pace is unhurried but attentive, where the service strikes a comfortable chord between professionalism and personal connection—there’s an ease here that encourages lingering over conversation and the simple pleasures of good company.
Food at Lomo Alto unfolds like a mosaic of cultural moments, blending Paraguayan soul, Spanish tradition, and the unmistakable character of a steakhouse. It’s not about rushed turns of plates but the quiet joy of each bite—from the smoky richness of ribs glazed in a thoughtful barbecue sauce to the satisfying heft of a perfectly cooked Lomo Alto steak. Fresh seafood dishes carry the salt and freshness of the nearby sea without fanfare, inviting you to savor textures and flavors that complement the setting rather than overpower it.
The menu feels like a well-traveled companion, offering comfort and discovery in equal measures—a grilled mix for two that encourages shared plates and stories, tender lamb that melts slowly in the mouth, or warm, familiar comforts like lasagna served with just the right touch of home. Even the desserts and coffees seem chosen to bring a gentle close to the meal, a moment of quiet reflection or laughter over a rich Irish coffee or a decadent slice of chocolate cake.
Whether you stumble upon Lomo Alto deliberately or by happy accident, the experience is shaped as much by the thoughtful touches—the genuine smiles, the attentiveness that never feels rushed—as by the dishes themselves. It’s a place where food meets atmosphere, but more importantly, where the simple act of sharing a meal feels restored to something meaningful and warm.

Beautiful meal!!!! Seafood soup (full of seafood with wonderful flavour, a meal in itself), garlic prawns with warm bread (what's not to like), ribeye steak medium (cooked to perfection), pepper sauce, fresh veg and chips. We hope to visit again before our holiday ends.

A place tucked away from the touristy area but with a nice view over the ocean. Excellent service and authentic and very tasty food. Would 100% recommend the lomo alto steak, which was cooked to perfection, one of the best steaks we ever had !

We had a nice dinner here, we really liked the tuna croquettes and stuffed mushrooms and fish of the day. Cheesecake was surprisingly good. Seafood soup was a disappointment. They have a nice view of the sea through a large window. Would recommend to make a reservation. Good service.

Excellent meal at Lomo Alto. Nice little restaurant in the old town with a great view out to see. 10 of us in the party and all of us really enjoyed our food choices......garlic prawns/mushrooms, fillet steaks, ribs, Iberian fan, lasagne....all delicious. Considering there were 10 of us the wait for service wasn't long. The waitress was very welcoming and had a great sense of humour. All in all a very pleasant meal snd would definitely recommend Lomo Alto to anyone visiting the area.

So good we came back twice! We were a group of eight and everyone ordered something different, every dish was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing and the food couldn’t have been better. By far the best food in Lanzarote! The lamb leg was incredibly tender, and the paella was full of flavor. The guys in our group loved the beers served in ice-cold glasses, and the cocktails were just as good. If you want authentic food with warm, friendly staff, I would definitely recommend this place. I’d also suggest booking in advance, as it’s popular for all the right reasons.

A gorgeous, little restaurant. Set off the beaten track so it can be easy to miss. We've visited Lomo Alto a few times over the years of us visiting Lanzarote and we are yet to be disappointed. The steak tonight was cooked to perfection (we asked for blue ). The whole meal was thoroughly enjoyable and the service was fab with very friendly staff. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
